I don't think this a console people are looking to "upgrade" to, its more just fore people who don't have a PS4 yet, they will just get this one instead.
To me the weight / size of a console means absolutely nothing, it sits in my cabinet, there's absolutely no reason to change from the standard PS4 to the slim if your current one is working fine.
