I spend R175 every 2-3 months on calls/sms/gprs IF that. So I'm looking for an el-cheapo contract with a half-decent phone.
There are cheaper top ups.
there is the 135, 215 and 315.
I have 2 contracts with MTN, the least of which is the MyChoice 75. R75 rand worth of airtime. They even have a R50 TopUp 'contract'.
Not sure if you are Vodacom or MTN atm...
There are several different packages available, even based on offpeak or anytime.
Have a look at this comparison of the plans MTN have - http://www.mtn.co.za/FindaPlan/Contr...s/default.aspx
What the mind can conceive, it can achieve.
With what you spend, if on Vodacom, go with the R135 Top Up. You can get a decent phone on that, too (I think). If you use it mostly for messaging, and need a bit more, tack an sms bundle on there (I've heard people do that). That'd probably be something like R185. With the other contract stuff they slip in there, it'll probably be about R195-R200.
And the X1 looks awesome.
Excuse me for sounding like my dad, but R200 a month? Crumbs I'm way behind today's times.
Oh well off to the contract catalogs I go :/
voicy is it realy that hard to make a decision? what would happen the day your girlfriend asks: Chicken or beef? id go for Samsung Omnia.
What do you want to pay?
Can I point out the oddest thing on these contracts? The more you pay, the more you save. Really.
I was on the R375 topup (which I prefer because I can monitor). It wasn't enough, so when I upgraded, I switched to R590 topup. On this, the calls are about half the price. I use the phone extensively (mostly for Internet, but still a lot of calls and messages). I cannot seem to get rid of the money loaded on it! It is the oddest thing. Day 11 of the month - and I have made tons of calls where I was kept on hold forever, use the internet everyday for IM and surfing, and loads of messages too - and I still have R551.76. But they don't refund you for the unused balance![]()
The only time I use my phone is when camper invites me for sushi - and even then I don't reply the 1st time round (stupid speaker is broken - ergo this thread).
If I make 3 calls a week it's a lot. But I often have business calls come to my phone quite often - and I get stuck in distant dorpies in the transkei quite frequently too - so it's nice to have , even just gprs, internet access.
My bro is selling a new HTC tytn *I think* - the alluminium one - for 3k, but i'd rather spend that cash on getting me a decent trail running Mountain Bike.
I suck - I know.
