Default Software that is essential for your gaming PC

Essential software for your gaming PC

This software can seriously improve your gaming experience.

ThunderMaster is very similar to MSI Afterburner, for those of us without any MSI hardware

Fraps has been abandoned for over 3 years. I doubt it will ever get updated again.

I don't think you need MSI hardware to use Afterburner.

F.lux is not necessary for most gamers, but it can greatly reduce eye strain when gaming at night.
    uhm lol wut?

F.lux has nothing to do with eye strain. Its intended to minimise the screens disruption of your circadian rhythm - says so on their page:

That's why I bought Bandicam; much better product IMO. It supports OpenGL and DirectX 12 and it can even use your GPU for hardware accelerated H.264 encoding.

The only features it doesn't have which I wish it did is support for Vulkan and the ability to run a benchmark. Though I don't really care so much about the latter, and I suppose the only game I've come across which ran well on Vulkan was the latest Doom. Otherwise it's an excellent product!

Plays.TV, OBS, And Geforce Experience Sharing service are all valid options, in my opinion. OBS is a little heavy on the resources, from my experience

I've switched to Plays.tv and it works for me, haven't spent enough time with OBS to form my opinion on it yet.

Recommending Fraps in 2016... You should feel bad! I tried it the other day, it still kills the most resource friendly games.
I tried OBS but I could not get it to work correctly, I always got black screens, switched over to plays.TV and much happier. I did use Shadowplay for a while yet for me it seems to be buggy. It will record the last x minutes chosen and then sometimes just not work at all.
