Default Farcry Primal - Worth it?

    Hi guys.

Pretty much what the title says, I have played and really enjoyed all the other installments of the FarCry franchise.

Is the latest one worth playing ?

I quite enjoyed it, if you've played the others, you'll feel right at home with Primal because it plays exactly the same as the others, and there's the regular Far Cry style crazy characters and trippy bits. The pre-historic setting is quite novel, and although the weapons are clubs, spears, bows, etc, they are effective and fun to use, The spears were my favorite. The Beast Master thing was also quite a nice touch, where you can tame predators and send them off to attack enemies, or ride them to cover ground fast. The Bloodfang sabretooth tiger was the best beast to have in my opinion, was pretty much all I used once I had tamed him.

One thing is that it didn't feel nearly as big as the others, maybe because I had just come off Witcher 3, which was really massive, but it felt like it was a way smaller and shorter game than the previous Far Cry games.

    Thanks.

Watched quite a few gameplay vids, and it looks very similar to the others.
I see cdkeys.com has it on for R340 I think, will give it a go.

I would also give the game a good reference and if you can pick it up at a decent price, like what you've found on cdkeys, then I would say go for it. If you enjoy the Far Cry series, this is pretty much more of it, but with cavemen and lots and lots of wildlife. I really like walking around and foraging for stuff to craft and hunting animals.

What I like is the whole primitive spin they put on it.
Any game where you get to shoot arrows or kill Nazi's I am pretty much hooked. Got Skyrim when it was launched and I am still playing it....

Will definitely get it, thanks for the feedback guys.

Bought it for cheap on Steam's black friday sale.

The map feels alot like FarCry 4's, but it's quite fun so far. The majority of the game involves harvesting nature to craft stuff, it's something different for a change for the Far Cry series.

Check out youtube gameplay videos if you're not convinced yet by the comments of this thread

Been doing some reading about it, it seems a bit short, average of 20 hours gameplay?

I remember almost buying this when it was on a good special on Steam and then this research put me off.

Haha, between work, my kid and studies, that is about the amount of time I have to play games in a year.....

    So, a good deal.

Yes, it's an awesome game. I enjoyed it much more than Far Cry 4. I'm trading my copy (PS4) in today to get Dead Rising 4 on Xbone because Dead Rising, but I really enjoyed my time with the game. I don't think I truly finished it, never saw credits, but there weren't any more story missions left unless I somehow missed something. Best part for me was the beast taking, that bloodfang sabretooth is awesome.
