Leaked Windows 10 "Game mode" will reportedly make your PC games run better

Windows 10 is set to receive a new "Game Mode" that will enhance the PC gaming experience by minimizing resources used by running apps to almost nothing and allocating freed up resources to the game, making it run faster, better and smoother overall.

Knowing MS, gaming mode will probably not be compatible with win32 games. At least not on the initial launch in my opinion. Time will tell.

Don't think so. Pretty sure this is just a more aggressive variation of superfetch. Or rather the exact opposite.

Seems like a good plan to me.

This is almost like the tweaking I (we) did years ago, disabled all unused services, had no printer, so print spooler was outa there. Lots of other stuff too. We've grown use to so much CPU power that tweaking isnt as big as it was 10 years and more ago.

Yesterday I saw a post somewhere stating that this Game Mode will only work for games bought through the Windows store (think it was on Reddit)

Auto game mode will only work for titles launched from / acknowledged by either the Windows Store or the Xbox app. Other titles can be referenced by path to the executable. This is as per the last communication I had,subject to change.
