I'm not the biggest fan of Borderlands (there I said it) but I loved Telltale's games The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us. And so I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy the mashup of the two in Tales from the Borderlands - that is until I played it.
Yes you could challenge how much of a "game" it is based on the limited gameplay, and how much real "choice" you have but man was it not one of the most enjoyable adventures I've been on in a long while. The wacky universe of Borderlands is the perfect setting for larger than life characters who not only made you laugh but, more importantly, made you care about them (them Loader Bot feels). Handsome Jack is probably one of the best villains in gaming and in the Tale of the Borderlands telling is both repulsively psychotic and strangely endearing at the same time.
I was hooked for all 5 episodes and was sad when it ended. There were many, many memorable moments. One of the things that was simply excellent was the soundtrack - each episode would start with an opening scene of gameplay which would then go into the opening credits cut scene backed by some amazing songs. I looked forward to every one of them.
I highly recommend playing if you enjoy a fun story, great characters, fantastic voice-acting and soundtracks, and Borderlands (or not).
