What rights do you have on the Internet?

Having access to the internet is increasingly considered to be an emerging human right.

    Not sure I agree.

It's super important certainly, but to me human rights are more stuff like safety, access to clean water, education etc

I suppose a point can be made that internet is a key contributor to education? Fair enough...seems like a bit of an abuse of the term "human right" to me though & frankly takes away from those deprived of "real" human rights in a serious fashion.

No internet? You'll fkin live trust me. No food? Eish.

I did see a youtube clip once about a company who wants to bring out a product that will work via satellite. You buy the hardware and have access for life. But this is only for what they provide to you and it is fully catered to be educational. To me personally the internet is a luxury. But my dear old estate once told me I must take my wifi antenna down from the roof, as I did not ask permission for it, I showed them some law from 1984 that says nobody may hold me from any means of getting information in any way, and as our estate has no ADSL infrastructure they could do nothing about it, so in some way it is a human right, if that is the only means for you to gain information and education.
