Asus pg248q

What is you thought of this monitor for gaming? Asus PG248Q I know it is a 24" monitor, my graphics card is a MSI 1080 TI, and I am not interested in 2k or 4k gaming. I like the 180hz and G-Sync technology. The price is a bit steep, but I recon it is worth it.

Lovely screen. But with the 1080ti, I would rather go for a 4K 144hz+ screen than sticking to 1080.
If you want to upgrade the screen and go big, might as well it properly.

I completely disagree with the above. Ignoring what you just said, I'd recommend going for 1440p instead of 4K because even the 1080Ti won't be enough for 4K high frame rates in a lot of titles.

But since you explicitly said you're not interested in any of that, I'd say that's a pretty sweet monitor right there. If you can afford it and it's what you want, there's no reason why you shouldn't go for it.

That was exactly my thoughts. I can run all my games I am playing... Tom Clancy's Wildlands, Forza Horizon 3 without the need to cap my framerates and still get a excellent picture quality.

Coming from an IPS panel display that was 21".
First off when i connected it up, I had to put shades on, the brightness was overkill and took me a solid 20 mins to figure out profiles and how to manage them.
After getting temp, colour and brightness fixed, jumped straight into overwatch.
Damn, my performance as a player improved, I could notice the difference, I could feel the difference.

Its great tech however has draw backs:

1. Viewing angle is terrible considering its using the old TN panel display technology, so this is not a monitor you use for viewing Movies etc.. You always change position however you have to sit right infront of it to see the full picture. Any angles causes picture loss.

2. Coming from a 21" I feel the monitor is too big, just couldn't get the distance between my eye's and the screen right.

3. I ended up connecting my old screens back cause I couldnt chill and watch stuff on the new monitor without having to sit in a specific space.
