Default E3 2017: Bungie confirms destiny 2 is 30fps on xbox one x

Xbox One X won't run Destiny 2 at 60 frames per second, Bungie has confirmed.

Luke Smith, the design director for Bungie's upcoming shared-world shooter, confirmed to Geoff Keighley during YouTube Live at E3 that, much like PlayStation 4 Pro, Destiny 2 will run at 30 frames per second on Xbox One X.

Bungie did not provide any specific details regarding why Destiny 2 won't run at 60 frames per second on Microsoft's upcoming $499 console.

Last month, Smith confirmed to IGN that while Destiny 2 will support 4K on PS4 Pro, the game will be locked to 30fps because of CPU constraints. "The PS4 Pro is super-powerful, but it couldn't run our game at 60," he said.

Destiny 2 will be released on September 6 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, two days ahead of its previously announced September 8 launch date. Meanwhile, the PC version of Destiny 2, which supports an uncapped frame rate, will be released the following month on October 24.

I think any game that has PvP cannot run with various frame rates on the same player base. The 60fps guys will have advantage over 30fps guys. Two XBOX versions, but still the same community.

    But 60fps at 4K on the X
    and 60fps at 1080p on the 1
    Surely that should be possible???

Don't think it's a big advantage unless we're talking really fast FPS...and even there I'd argue that the competitive advantage is less than people would think.

The one tricky bit is games based on the quake engines (So CODs). Thanks to some dodgy programming logic the framerate has an impact on in game abilities. As in you can jump higher and run faster if you tweak framerates just right (there are magic fps numbers). No joke. That's for PC obviously...consoles you can't tweak sht.
