Microsoft revealed at Gamescom 2017 that it is working on the next Age of Empires game.

Yeah...saw the trailer. 1:30 of pure nothingness.

I learned literally nothing new except for the 4 in Age of Empires. That "4" was indeed news to me.

That said I am actually excited...was stoked when I clicked on play button for trailer. Was just expecting something more tangible.

Felt the same, but nothing can take away my love for the AoE series. I even loved the third installment which most people detested - I think I played it longer than the first 2 and it still holds up quite well by modern standards.

It's an announcement / teaser. The whole intention of the trailer was simply to reveal that Age 4 is indeed in the works.

An AoE 4 section has been added to the official site, so I expect we will see more info in the not-too-distant future.

We must have different ideas about trailers then. I expect them to show me a little bit of the game...just a glimpse. Enough to tease but not enough to give anything major away.

Anyway...based on this trailer I have deduced that AoE4 could possibly be a FPS based on that video. Or turn based. Or a cellphone game.

idk...maybe I just have a low tolerance for BS. But seriously they can get back to me when they have something tangible to show.

Yeah third one was pretty great. Think i prefer the style of 2 though - the whole card system didn't work for me.
