HavocXphere, now that post is the definition of a thread killing post. We can close the thread down, this is the answer.

Some sound advice that I'll have to make part of my own life, as I tend to struggle with handling stress myself.

Gotta be careful though, I sprained my wrist one time when I flipped out after borking my motherboard...

Yeah. I don't buy high end peripherals, but they do need to work properly. Tech isn't that expensive anymore. Also bough a bunch of stuff for work (laptop stand, kb+ms etc) to improve posture. Worth it over a year or two of use.

Yeah same. Hurts like a mother when the angle is wrong and the force of the punch translates directly into twisting your wrist.

Jogging is more my thing lately.

Do give meditation a try too as Ser_Bunnylot says. The headspace app has good quality guided ones for free (well the first 10 ones are).

Involuntarily I eat a lot.

Heck, sometimes I avoid eating altogether.

I had a massive stress problem a while back that ended up as depression. Was given meds and after a month I realised I could end up not getting my gun licence.
So I told my self to harden the f up.
I used the meds and conciously identified my triggers and whilst on urbanol you really don't give a crap so I took advantage and sorted my stresses out on it. Told my colleagues to do their own work, my boss to cool down and some friends to chip in once in a while.
It ruffled some feathers, but three years down the line im super happy.

Great post HavocXphere

The one thing that helped me cut stress was to create a clear ‘cut’ between work and personal life. Work at work, and then stop when you leave.

Also the whole circle of family/friends thing. If something doesn’t affect my close family circle in any way, then I don’t care about it. As has been said in a few posts already, learn to not overextend yourself and not worry about things that don’t actually affect you.

Just my 2c. But great points have already been made.

Great thread. Really enjoying reading it.

Until they decide everyone needs an iphone so that they can be reached 24/7... Was glad I postponed that as long as possible. Now it's compulsory though.

Not the greatest idea for office stress. Last time I sat with health and safety for an hour long intervention
