I agree that it is definitely not quite the same but it is not far from it either.

I do however not believe that it will get quite that bad though. As soon as those packages start showing up some fed up consumer will start his/her own ISP as direct competition as Mr Musk has already threatened to do...

The best thing the US ISPs can do is to just deprioritize all traffic to/from FCC offices and as many FCC officials as possible. Like 56k modem speeds.

Why do I remember talk about a bunch of guys trying to DDOS Pai's home down to a 56k speeds?

I'm so pissed off about this shit, also a thought ,if the vast majority of what we connect to is hosted in the US could the ISP's who control the peering from SA to USA slow down non US connections as well , will this become a thing causing our ISP's to have to pay more and then pass that cost down to us ?

I don't know how this will affect us locally but i think it could have an impact and i think DSTV is smiling about this and hoping it happens.
