Default I3 VS Athlon II X3

Found this (The cheaper athlon II x3 435 blows the i3 away)

    Full Article

The comparison tests will end here,it is not difficult to find out that Core i3 + H55 though have a lot of progress, but still can not exceed AthlonII X3 435 + 785G .

In general performance , processor computing, file compression, video encoding and 3D rendering , the two systems basicly can be considered equal shares. But in high-definition video playback and game test, Core i3 + H55 began to be gradually behind AthlonII X3 435 + 785G ,and the gap is gradually wide . In particular in game, whether in speed or compatibility, Core i3 + H55 still is not good, so when compare with AthlonII X3 435 + 785G , there will are still many shortcomings .

lol mate Firstly the i3 isn't in competition with the x3.
The i3's direct competition is the AMD Phenom II X2 550.

I have to admit though, im a bit of an AMD fan boy but when it came to upgrading this time, I went Intel purely because in a few weeks I want to get a i5 750. Wich is way faster than any of the below R2000 AMD cpu's.

it might be in direct competition with the Phenom II X2 but from a pricing perspective the athlon II X3 should also be included as it sells for a bit less than the I3 and offers overall better performance to the i3 (even with the lack of level 3 cache and with the right mobo and a bit of luck core number 4 can also be unlocked) !

I picked up an i3 for R1043 and the Phenom II x2 550 was R850 pretty close pricing with less than R200 in it.

As far as bang for buck goes those 2 cpu's are pretty much top of the food chain.

I think they are pretty much equal except for the i3 using newer tech.
