Default PS3 Video output settings for Red Dead Redemption

Jeepers, I hope i did this one right, not like my last post
So I bought Red Dead Redemption yesterday and when i begin the game it tells me that I cannot play the game with the current video output settings.
I have a CRT TV and an NTSC playstation set to PAL.
I know the ps3 games are region free and i played GOW 3 perfectly on my TV, RDR on the other hand gives me the error straight up!
Any suggestions ( aside from go buy urself an HD TV )

p.s I have fiddled with the video and display settings but can't find the issue.

By the sounds of things it looks like your CRT TV does not support the minimum resolution output implemented by Red Dead where as other games can self adjust. As far as I know the minimum output on that is 1024x768 and by the sounds of things your TV is only able to support lower than that... My best guess would be to take your PS3 to say a mates house with a flat screen and try it there... If it works then you definitely know its the resolution. Other than that unfortunately TV's are becoming like our PC screens we have to keep upgrading them as our games and graphics progress...

I would say put in that little extra cash towards a new TV and keep say the other one in like a bedroom or something
