it must be said though that sometimes girls can be a bit overly bleh about gaming. A great example: I dated a girl for 2 years..spent all my time with her, did everything in my power to make her happy and then...

1 day i decided to go game with some of my mates and she wanted to come along..long story short, we came back home like 2 hours later and she started crying..telling me she never knew I was into gaming so much and If that's what i'd rather be doing than being with her, I should just tell her...WTF LOL

so yeah... some food for thought lol

Everything with in measure (I think thats the term). Doing anything excessively is not good, be it drinking, partying or gaming. A relationship is a two way street, if one of the two games he/she has to remember that there is a partner who would also like attention. Allocate time for gaming, but also for spending time with you significant other. Ive dated my wife for nearly 2 years before we got married back in April and we've been living together since December last year. From the day we met she knew about my gaming habits and what it means to me, she never expected or expects me to just up and leave my gaming just for her, a partner who does is being selfish and is with the wrong person.

What this girl did was prove exactly how ignorant she is of what is important to her BF. Imagine how she would have reacted if he put down her puppy simply coz she spent more time with it than him...

I think for a chick to do something that extreme the situation must have been quite bad but yeah you do get some crazy girls that will do something like this just because the guy wanted to game instead of going out that night.

Or she's just mental. Seriously. Remember this the next time for eg your gf spends 4 hours shopping for shoes instead of spending time with you watching the footy or w.e. Then go cut them all up and see what happens. Coz it's the same damn thing.

sorta echoing what Omega said, If your gf/bf can't handle your gaming habits, then she/he is not right for you. Why make yourself miserable for someone else.
It is indeed incredibly selfish. Both should have hobbies that they are into and you should respect that.
If one goes overboard, you communicate to resolve it.

I went a bit nuts with my mmo'ing at one stage and we talked about it, it was becoming a problem, I was neglecting myself and him, we resolved it, both of us moved on for the better. If he had somer just deleted all my characters, I would have disowned/left and killed him. I would not ever expect something like that from him though, so that chick must be attention whoring. Not the way to go about snapping someone out of something.

You can't blame her. Everything in moderation and clearly this wasn't the case.

Addiction is a destructive thing and sometimes extreme measures need to be taken.

Well she obviously wanted to go out with a bang.... still a bit immature in my opinion.
That said, there isn't much more information on the subject - for all we know he missed one birthday/anniversary/(pregancy?) too many all while laying waste to ... the things in WoW.

Luckily my wife is a bookworm, so she can in a way understand the escapism that gaming offers.
