Perhaps three of the most successful movies made recently were some of the scariest. Not in terms of screamers, in terms of what they mean for humanity and the future generation.
1. Twilight
See old thread. Scary as hell. If you ever have time, check some of the comments for this on Youtube. The fans of this seem to type "like" as "lyke," not realizing that it's the exact same amount of letters. Additionally, there are several forums for people who think they are real vampires -- Google it. I'd like to take this time to mention that typing like a dumbass (this has its limits, I mean crossing it) doesn't make you cool.
2. High School Musical 3
Imagine Grease with nothing but bisexual actors and sexually challenged script/song writers and you get High School Musical 3, cleverly abbreviated to
HSM. I refuse to type the abbreviation out of hatred.
It's not just the terrible singing and choreography, but also the idea that high school is a place where you all dance and hold hands. Now, I am nowhere near brave enough to rent this movie, so all I've done is watched a few clips on Youtube, but from that alone I know enough to bash it. The A rating is made obvious at every possible opportunity, such as throwing in at least one Asian and black person to make the message very clear that it is not a biased movie, not realizing that putting just one in makes it pretty damn obvious -- but their target audience wouldn't even notice, so they make it even clearer that the intention is to dumb down kids so that they don't notice idiocy and end up typing like this:

-- You didn't save ANY time by typing like that. In fact, you just ruined any chance you have of being anything more than a janitor at McDonalds. And you're 12. Sad, amirite?

-- The swearing is completely nonsensical. And I have no idea what was just said.
Keep in mind this is looking through one page of replies to these movies.
3. Camp Rock.
