best this I've learned for games is basic military alphabet. alpha, bravo charlie, delta, echo, foxtrot, and so on. Also reflexes and I can identify some of the military weapons.

Jokes aside - I've learned that where multi-player games are involved, no matter where you go, you're going to run into immature twits who put their own enjoyment of the game ahead of everyone else's.

I've learnt about living a balanced lifestyle and not to let gaming take preference.
Hobbies are always only good in moderation.

I've also learned I mainly only get on with other gamers and have little time for people who don't game / or who aren't at least a bit tech savvy.

I've learnt to curb my mmo addiction (see first line) and realize that you can't escape reality completely.

On simpler notes, I've learnt that:
- shotguns are your friend in tight spots and that rocket launcher splash damage is better than trying to get a direct hit.
- In mmo's having pretty armour isn't always the best armour. (no, nevermind, I'll never learn this)
- I must never roll a melee class in a mmo, it won't work out for me and stick to ranged/magic classes.
- in RTS games, trying to build the biggest bestest defence does not work, you need to actually try and kill the oppenent and leave your little sanctuary at some point before resources run dry.

The first FPS game I ever played, Half Life, taught me that I can only play FPS games with invert mouse.

Everything I know about PC hardware is thanks to gaming. What else would encourage you to build, modify and clean it?

Last but not least, you can play a game for 10 years and get really good at it, but there will always be a guy that gets better overnight in 2 weeks and totally pawns you with his skeelz.
