Default 8MB DSL sync this morning

Some of my clients in the Menlyn and Centurion Area (Pretoria) are syncing 8MB this morning.

    Did a test Download

Sofar anything I downloaded locally averaged 805-830KBPS
International downloads, lowest I got sofar from decent servers is 550KBPS but went to 810KBPS downloading .net 2.0 from Microsoft.com

    Looks promising.......

Yup I have the same. Super fast. Mine seems to range from 820-838kb/s international downloads.

Nice, it seems quite a few exchanges have implemented the upgrades. Really can't wait for ours to do the same. And to think - 5 years ago when my mate in Sweden boasted about his 10Mbit connection I thought it was something unimaginable over here.

    Yeah just did a speedtest:

nice 8Mb/s DL and the same UL, but it is ADSL, so that's to be expected! I copied a 1mb file and it had DLed before I even managed to rename it!

Nope. I live in Krugersdorp. We only got indoor plumbing the other day. I can thank my lucky stars that I have a 4Mbit line to start with - I'm definitely not putting my hopes up on a 8-10MB connection.
My ignore list: growing too fast to keep updating.
