Not to hate on DOTA but it's called HON now...too little too late, I honestly thought most DOTA players, myself included moved to HON. I mean what their talking about now seems a little redundant since HON came out.
Oh well I hope they can make new innovations and maybe bring the old DOTA players back from HON, time will tell.
I stayed with DotA because HoN has way too many "dark side" references...more so than DotA had. As such I also don't play games like Diablo due to my Christian views so it annoyed me that the "new DotA" crossed one of my personal lines.
Personally, and to stay on topic here, I never thought that DotA should be something that's "owned" by a company. I always thought that the real successor to DotA would come out when Warcraft 4 has been released in the next 100 years and it would be a community-made modification. So I actually agree with guinsoo and those guys.
My ignore list: growing too fast to keep updating.
trademarking something that owned and made by the community is not cool.
Icefrog is DotA, he's the one that got it to where it is now, if he were to stop working on it today, that would simply be the end of war3 DotA. No one would be able to succeed him and everything would be a mess. It's basically time for DotA to move away from the war3 engine and Blizzard for good. That's basically where Valve comes in.
Pendragon also has a personal vendetta against Icefrog as can be seen here:

All he cares about is making more money out of LoL.

Had no idea dota-allstars.com was closing, used to spend quite a bit of time lurking on there. So is dota still actively developed atm, or is it dying?
Icefrog is still developing DotA after all this time, sometime ago he left the dota-allstars after some complications with Pendragon(Who joined Guinso in LoL), and created his own website called Playdota.
This basically lead to the demise of Pendragon's dota-allstars website, because without Icefrog people just lost interest.
