    Question Laptop Bag

    Hey guys.

Excuse this silly question please but I recently replaced my ancient desktop PC with a laptop. Now, I broke the budget to buy the thing but now I need a bag for it and see no use in paying R350+ for the bag...i mean really!!!

Any suggestions as to where I can find an ok laptop bag for a good price?

Flea markets are your best bet (Bruma Lake, Boksburg, etc.) I picked up a sweet bag from a luggage stall for next to nothing.

If it's a bag that you're going to be using every day, BEWARE of cheap laptop bags. They will not last you very long and you'll end up replacing them constantly. Even worse, imaging dropping your laptop because of a cheap bag that it was in. R350 for a laptop bag is nothing - they can cost 3 times as much.
My ignore list: growing too fast to keep updating.

I'm in agreement with Neo here, R350 for a bag that will last you years and actually cushion and protect your laptop is so worth it. Would you really want to carry your 20k laptop in a R50 bag? I have a Targus laptop bag, had it for the last 4 yrs and still as good as new, used everyday, nice compartments for everthing and even a rain jacket

Both Neo and Strife make good points, but it will not be used every day. Basically just to store it in, and for transport on the odd occasion.

On the price issue, R350 is the cheapest one I've seen, so...

But thanks guys, I will have a look around.

I used an el cheapo flea market bag for a couple of years before receiving a plush one with my new lappy, and it was as adequate for protecting my precious as the new one is and cost me half the price.

I also had a Body Glove sleeve for a while which works brilliantly if you want to slip your notebook into a bag or briefcase.

Im with Strife on this one. R350 for a decent laptop bag is not bad at all. i have a belkin laptop bag and have had it for 3 years now and it still looks brand new and i use it everyday. it also protected my laptop when it fell of the bed. ( i did not put the bag properly on the bed and it slid of the bed). i paid R450 for my bag and got it from Dell directly.
