Thread: I'm done with Starcraft 2.

Default I'm done with Starcraft 2.

Okay. The cheesy tactics online and attitude of most people online have completely put me off of this game. To be quite honest here, MOST of the online games are the same. Same cheesy, cheap rushes OVER AND OVER again with the same build orders and general noob tactics.

I know people say "each match is different" but the only thing that changes is that you play against people that either use cheesy tactics or people that don't know them YET.

No thanks. This game is extremely overrated in my opinion.

I'll stick to my FPS / Fighting and Racing games.
My ignore list: growing too fast to keep updating.

Meh, same here, atleast when it comes to online games. But the campaign still has a few thousand play throughs left and than there are some of those custom gametype maps that are coming along soon.

I've developed a distaste for most online gamers across most online games.

It's as if someone finally opened the floodgates on every smacktard with a pc to live out his alter ego and turn into an A-grade dickhead.

I really miss the old online community of BF2, WoW-before it became a household name and the guild wars bunch.

The only game I have on my pc currently is LOTRO, but I've receded to playing my console offline only - for the last 2 months or so.

I just prefer playing offline. No one is swearing at you or calling you names. No one telling you how to play the game. I can go at my own pace and just find it relaxing.

Neo dont you think there are still a group of gamers out there who are still a cool bunch. But i have to agree with you about the cheese tactics. I mean seriously it gets boring if i get reaper rushed every single game. And zergling rushed and he will keep his 1 zergling running around to kill workers which is all good and fine but 1 you are just pissing me off and 2nd wasting time.

But there is a lot of retards on online games it would seem. But guys we must also realize that there are a lot of kids out there who will try anything to beat you and thats where the cheap tactics come in. Example. The marathon, lightweight and ninja pro rush on snd in MW2. Which in all honestly is beyond gay.

Each game for me has been different, but I'm in the bronze league and playing against people who don't know any decent strategies and tactics. One game I played, a zerg player just made a whole row of spine crawlers and spawned a bunch of Hydralisks. Beat him down rather quickly with Colossi. Anyways... I play 1v1 only and at least then, people don't yell and shout obscenities and insults because you're doing something wrong. Otherwise, I simply ignore. ^_^

I never liked the term "cheese". It makes it sound like what the player is doing is immediately a bad thing. Technically, it's a gambit, and a gamble on an opening strategy. It is risky, and if it fails then the cheeser has very often lost the game by wasting time and resources on it. Cheeses are also easy to copy so if you want to stay competitive you have to learn the cheeses and spot them coming. From what I've seen and read on the various sites it is best to have a practice partner and work on beating cheeses, amongst other things.

Anyway, this is probably the best cheese I've ever seen*. It's too funny.

And beyond legit. Find a counter, each and every feature of the game has one.

    Campers: Toob them.
    Juggernaught: Toob them
    Last Stand: Toob them
    P90: Toob them
    Toobers: Toob them
The toob rules all, even itself.

The higher up in rank and level of play you move, the less "cheese" strategies you will see because of the very high risk you run when using them (all in) and how easy they are to counter when scouted out quickly. Part of getting to those higher ranks though is consistently scouting and identifying these all in maneuvers and then decisively countering them. The only way really to pull it off against a higher tier player is to bluff them, which may or may not work. ie. Let them scout you going a less aggressive build , 2 gate robo, then as soon as they lose vision cancel your robo and switch to 4 gate.

These strategies are super effective at the lower ranks where people tend to not scout, focus far too much on base building, not getting a tier 1 army out ASAP and obviously not yet knowing what the all in strats are and how to counter them.
