The reasons you don't play against SA guys often is quite simple.
1. In comparison to the international pool of players, the SA pool of players is extremely small.
2. That pool of players is made even smaller when the game looks for evenly matched players.
3. That pool is made non-existent when trying to find an available SA player that meets the criteria of no 2. at the time your looking for a game.
irc works and all but chat channels would be way more awesome.
be much easier to find practice partners and such, and to just jump into games with people if it was all integrated into the system

Ok, just resurrecting this thread to vent my EXTREME frustration with this game at the moment. This is how I feel:
OMF%$!!!!!!!!!!! Just lost 8 games in a row! Then I get to play and the match screen says I'm "slightly favoured" and the guy owns me exceptionally hard. Seriously, F@#$ this game!! How frustrated can you get?! Right now I don't feel like playing this game- ever again!
It just feels like now matter how much you play, you just don't get better! Even against "noobs" like me! F@*#&!!
In this one game I'm actually winning. The guy tries to build photon cannons in my base and I move all my buildings down the ramp, start a new base and kill all the units he builds in my base, wave after fscking wave. Then he counter attacks with quite a big force, and I kill that too. By now I thought I would have him in a tough spot since he spent all his resources on Immortals and all kinds of crap spawning from my old base, which I held back. So I decide to build up a small force to wipe him out since I don't have a lot of units left. IN COMES THREE FSCKING VOID RAYS and kills ALL my [email protected] I can't DO [email protected]. Holy crap this game pisses me off!
I found this on another forum:

I played SC1 many years ago as a casual player, and had an awesome time. The past couple days, I’ve played a few dozen games of SC2 on a friend’s account, and got roflstomped over and over. Maybe it’s because while I dropped SC1… 10 years ago, these uber players latched on to it like rats to a bit of moldy cheese.
In short, SC2 multiplayer has been a completely awful experience for me as a casual gamer, and I have no plans at all to continue playing.

I know how you feel. Last week I played one day and won 4 games in a row with a new build that I'd spent hours practising. Then a few days later I played again and lost 4 games in a row.
I haven't played any league games since then, I'm "taking a break" from league altogether until I get some confidence back. Right now I'm having an absolute blast playing custom maps with friends, alternating between Nexus Wars and Income Wars. Go check them out, if you haven't already. It's so easy just to join a game and jump in and they fill up fast, although there's a bit of a problem with Nexus Wars in that I've had quite a number of games where one person leaves early, you can't really win if a teammate does that, ALTHOUGH WE DID TODAY. Some EPIC contests.
And don't give up on SC2 league. Just go back to the drawing board, take a break, and then return to the fray.

Bah! All this raging over nothing. Accept you aren't any good and then everything will far easier. I did this 7 years ago and haven't played RTS games since. Which is why, incidentally, I'm holding out on my purchase of SC2. When it drops significantly in price and the mods/maps have matured a bit - then I'll get it. The best part of Warcraft 3 was the maps (variety, genre, fun factor and casual friendliness).
Completely agree with the OP and a lot of other posters. The super nigelness of this game just doesnt grab me. What if I dont want to rush or be rushed? Oh right I shouldnt be playing SC2, I get it.
SC2 is all about rushes of some kind, thats all there is too it. What can I surprise the player with and end the game in 5 minutes? Sorry, not worth the R500 I paid.
