The cheap cruddy GPU and my lack of RAM will for now. but at least i bought a new AM3 MOBO with DDR3,USB3 and of course SATA3 to ensure a longer lifespan.

I too live in the now, and when bulldozer arrives its just a CPU change away and when i feel my Phenom2 is such a major problem, that absolutely chokes my pc i will upgrade for a fraction of the cost.

Don't you have a socket change coming soon?

What would a BMW M5 engine do in a bus?

Whats the bottleneck?

Im not attacking you, it just ticks me off when the use of your 'superior' cpu will hardly ever be felt in gaming to a point where it cripples my gaming.

In my situation i jumped from Core2duo to Phenom2 because i couldn't afford an i7 cpu with the mobo and still buy a decent GPU.

After doing HOURS of research online i realised that i do not even need it for what i want to do.

Whats next?

Demand i look at the benchmarks and see the difference for myself?

I have, and made a wise decision.

I will never see the difference in performance if my money runs out after the CPU, MOBO and RAM.

Choose the CPU of your choice....

Buy a bargain bin GPU, or use your onboard GPU.

Compare that with freakin Athlon x4 and a midrange Graphics card and look and the impressive result.........

Not that great.

My friend bought the i7 and mobo and now has no money to buy a GPU beyond R1000 rand.

I like Intels i series range, but i will not throw that kind of cash at a CPU, when i can spend the difference on a better GPU and do some proper gaming.

The incredible horse power of i7 is wasted on somebody who doesn't need it for purposes beyond gaming, and is on a tight budget what with the cost of living....

The AMD CPU's are excellent and all the Benchmarks shown are useless if the applications of the intended CPU will not be used anyways.

This weekend i am gonna buy another AMD cpu[Athlon 635 x4],Just to run my multimedia pc[Shock horror!]
I agree dude. Seriously. Intel is great, but I will not, for the love of balls, buy a CPU for R13 000. I'm sorry but that's just overboard. I'm very, VERY happy with my new AM3 motherboard and my newly acquired 965 BE. The performance is great and while it's running games awesomely with my 5850, I wouldn't mind getting a better GPU, but that will come soon .

I'm so glad I moved to the AM3 platform. The Bulldozer is going to be awesome and I'm going to save thousands of rands which is a solid bargain .
