In one way, I do agree with trying before buying, I honestly do. But there is a thin line, because honestly now, how many of you will 'try' a game, enjoy it, finish it, and once you're finished, decide that it might not be worth buying now that you've finished it. I can guarantee that you've slipped and played a few pirated games that you should have supported the developers for.

You can take a car for a test drive before buying it, but you can't use it for weeks and for all its worth and never buy it.

I am with Voicy, I take a lot of pride in the originals I own. If I want a free test ride, I will go online, I will view videos of the gameplay, read reviews, screen shots and download a demo. I believe that proves enough for someone to decide if they should buy the game or not.

I fully agree. I will admit to slipping in my time, and there have been times when I was a scholar or student and cash was tight and I took that pirated game off a mates External, but since I got a job and started earning decent-ish money I have gone and bought many of those games that I pirated. Sometimes I do play them again. Sometimes the cases just sit on my shelf forever untouched. I won't say that I've bought all the games I've pirated, but I have bought all the ones that I thoroughly enjoyed and spent masses of time on. E.g: Half-Life 2, Oblivion, FEAR, StarCraft, WarCraft 3, Bioshock, Fallout 3 and more.

These days I'm a little more circumspect as to what I buy, and do do the necessary research before deciding if I'll buy something. Research like reviews and in game videos like you mentioned mcryan. There are too many crappy games out there for me to blindly throw money around looking for entertainment

Like I'v said I dont condone Piracy as I try to buy everything legal but obviously everything you want is not always available no matter how hard u look and thus the only way of getting would be to pirate it !!

Like I have said I always try to buy everything legal (Proof) if it is available, If not then Piracy is the only option

My post referred to the part were you said some games aren't released here. You will always struggle to find some of the older games. I struggled a lot to get a copy of planescape torment but eventually did.

Rusty, I am all for buying second hand games, but with the DRM measures built into some titles buying them has become dicier. Why, even the original owners may only be able to reinstall a given game 3 or 4 times.

    Or so I have heard.

/I have quite a collection of games myself.USed to have more, but took a hammer to the pirated ones once I started working.

Hangs head in shame at this admission.

    Dohc: Where's the firefly boxset?
Dib: You can't make me look! I'll just shut my eyes.
Zim: Oh, you'll open them. You have to breath sometime.
Dib: No, I - Wait... What do eyes have to do with breathing?
