I'd agree with "Industry analyst" especially at those price points. The important thing is that for non next-gen owners, which is probaly most of the casual crowd they are targeting, the entry level price is quite a bit. An most of them have a Wii gathering dust.
I don't think the motion controllers are going to sell as well as MS and Sony are expecting at all, so I agree with the market analyst on that sentiment. If I had to choose a top-seller between the Kinect and Move I'd have to put my money on the PS3 Move. So far it's been getting really positive reviews and people are very happy with the controller's accuracy.
A motion controller's accuracy and easy-of-use are paramount in peoples decisions when buying a motion controller and the Move is far ahead of the Kinect on those fronts.
My ignore list: growing too fast to keep updating.
They said the Wii would fail and here we are years on and its still around. I think the casual market will eat this up.
You don't believe this do you?A motion controller's accuracy and easy-of-use are paramount in peoples decisions when buying a motion controller and the Move is far ahead of the Kinect on those fronts.
Agree with omega on this one they will eat it up like most things, and then will gather dust a few weeks in.
Evil meet my Sword. Sword, meet Evil!
my wii is gathering dust...but i think the move and kinect should be more successful since it has its own set of games and is integrated with main stream games aswell
To paraphrase Thrawn over on Prophecy forums
You know that vision of 'bringing gaming to the masses'? It came true. You're looking at it.
Play games, not platforms
My Wii still sees regular use. It is the SONY console that has been gathering dust.

The target market is casuals and I'd say most casual gamers "learnt their lesson" with the Wii. I don't think they are going to so easily pickup what they'd see as another doorstop.
Will it do badly? Nah, there are plenty people that buy up this kind of thing without thinking twice, I don't think it will be nearly as successful as they hope though.
