Creating a guide for DOTA would be pretty hard, you'd finally get through every hero and its strat, then a new version will come out that nerfs half the heroes and adds 3 more

Well there will always be basic strategies that don't change due to a new version. I mean that would be a bit dumb. New versions just address bugs and balances, and yes new heroes are added. But there are still a number of strategies one can use / learn from other players.
