I find myself underwhelmed by tech demos of late. I don't know if it's the cynicism catching up with me but I usually find the final product to not be nearly as groundbreaking.
Dib: You can't make me look! I'll just shut my eyes.
Zim: Oh, you'll open them. You have to breath sometime.
Dib: No, I - Wait... What do eyes have to do with breathing?

its called down scaling to work on your pc, that's definitely the propriety engine and not final in game.

Yeah that's probably at least a large chunk of it.

The kewl Thing about UE3 is that its a module based engine which means certain areas can be changed without rewriting other areas of the engine. The updates to the UE3 engine might seem incremental but is in fact extremely big updates, if you look at the base UE3 which the original gears run on and the 3.2 updated engine which gears 2 run on then you'll notice the changes, not immediately but side by side the changes are significant.

I've changed my mind. I watched the trailer again in HD this time... OMG. Man, is it awesome!
Very dynamic, I must say. I like the collections and dragging and dropping feature. That's way cool!

The lighting is something special... *drools*
