    Default Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Multiplayer.

The Idea of multiplayer in an AC game doesn't resound with me, kinda like the MP from Bioshock 2 which felt tacked on and not a key part of the game play. I went onto Wikipedia to have a look what I can find.

    Multiplayer
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is the first game in the main series to feature full multiplayer mode on all platforms. The unique multiplayer mode was heralded by many at E3 2010 where it was showcased. It received recognition from the media. GameTrailers awarded it as the Best Multiplayer Game of the show.[10]
The players are Templars in training at the Abstergo facility. They use the animi (plural for animus) seen at the beginning of Assassin's Creed II to access memories of Assassins and then to acquire their skills using the "bleeding effect". There will be various game modes and different maps, including the areas from the first and the second game, as well as new maps.[11] The gameplay in multiplayer mode is similar to the core gameplay of the series, as players are required to use their assassination and stealth skills. Players earn points by completing each assassination without being detected and escaping after each kill. Breaking the cover makes player visible to other gamers and makes them easier to assassinate.
The multiplayer mode also includes leveling system, which allows players to unlock rewards by earning XP points during the matches and gaining new levels. Players can then unlock abilities, perks and streaks. Abilities are active skills, which can be used again only after a cooldown time. Perks are passive skills, which can be equipped before the match and they are active all the time. Streaks are bonuses awarded for reaching certain number of kills or deaths.[11]
The multiplayer beta was announced at E3 2010 and it will be exclusive for PlayStation 3 users[12]. It's slated to begin on 4 October 2010, with early access for Playstation Plus subscribers from 27 September.[11] Three maps have been confirmed for the beta: Rome, Castel Gandolfo and Siena.[13][14]
    [edit] Game modes

In Wanted, up to eight players are dropped on a map of medium size where they must find and assassinate each other. However, the rule is not the one of a standard deathmatch but rather a cat-and-mouse game. Each player is given another player as a target. The goal is to find and kill a target without being seen or killed by the player's own predator. If the player breaks cover, the target will be warned and will run away, starting a chase sequence. The player with the highest score wins. Points will be removed for dying or killing a player that is not the target or the hunter, otherwise players would feel the need to kill everyone in sight. This mode is very similar to the multiplayer mode of The Ship.
In Hunter, one player chooses a character and is assigned a target to kill. The other players must find and stop the assassin. This mode relies on use of NPC characters to make it more difficult as there can be several characters who look like the target in the same area. Killing an innocent person cancels the assassination contract. [15]
In Alliance, six players are put in to teams of two in a co-op esque mode as they work together to fulfill various contracts whilst being hunted by other teams. [16] This mode encourages players to work together, as teammates can help each other or they can assassinate their target simultaneously.[11]
    [edit] Characters

Players will be able to choose one of the available characters, with more to be revealed: Courtesan, Barber, Priest, Noble, Prowler (Hunter), Executioner, Doctor, Blacksmith, Soldier, Smuggler, Engineer[17][18][19]. Two special characters will be also playable: Harlequin and Officer. These characters are only available in the selected pre-order editions of the game. Each character will have unique assassination moves and signature weapons.[20] Characters can be customized as the player levels up. These customizations include new accessories and costumes.[11]
After reading this AC:BH went from a blip on my radar to "one to watch".

Obviously this MP is unconventional and since there will be NPC characters in the map along with players it could get very, very intresting.

What are your thoughts on Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood's proposed MP?

I really like it but I don't know if it's going to catch on. There are NPCs in the map but the second you spot another character moving in any sort of "unscripted" way you'll know it's another player. Also, running up a wall and climbing a building with someone else coming after you might also tip you off that it's not a NPC lol

I dunno - this might be awesome - it might be an epic fail. It all depends. But if it's a WIN I think I'm getting this for the XBOX 360 and not for the PC. This might be a dawn for a whole new type of multiplayer game. Who knows
My ignore list: growing too fast to keep updating.

I hear what your saying and share ur fears. As I have bother previous AC's ill get this and hopefull Murph will get his act together and get onto live so we can try this baby out and see how it goes.

Also as I understand it the player models will be those of ordinary NPC's and this will mean players will have to be vigilant not only of their own actions but of the crowd around you. Imagine player a courtisan and being chased, then running into a crowd of courtisans and standing still, if you hunter kills the wrong one he looses point and may even give u an opening.

Like Murph said since this is a new MP something un tried, some thing else than the old Halo, COD, BF stuff over and over.

My only thought is that it looks awesome. Something new and different.
Wanted mode looks to be the one to play.

(There is a video on Youtube (and I think it was on a recent NAG disc) where they take you through Wanted step by step, can't post the link now though.)

Linky to Wanted Mode. I haven't seen this before - I'm a bit more positive about this now:

This game may actually cause me to stay on XBOX Live Gold

My Jaw just dropped. That looked freaking awesome. 8 players in a large map like that means ur going to have to go looking for ur target.

/Adds AC3 to list of MUST buy titles.

Don't worry, I make a pact this day to get that sorted by the time this is released.
If I have to play one more TDM game I'm going to die.

Uhm, I didn't know this game includes a single player campaign? I thought it was a strictly MP game. Geesh, no gents, this game is a definite must have for me now.

Yeah when it was first announced I thought it was MP only as well. Very, very glad the main story continues.
