Splatterhouse played to Lamb of God? That's a win right there.

    I know right \m/ \m/

My folks wouldn't buy me the original back in the day. Something about it being too violent. We'll see who's "too violent" when my doomsday device is finally completed!

Just finished this now, awesome game. Loved every second of it, except maybe for the disappointing final boss. Definitely gonna go for a second playthrough right away. This is one of, if not the goriest game I have ever played. The amount of blood flying all over the place is just insane and some of the splatterkills are way out there in the over-the-top department. I was also pleasantly surprised by some cool enemies and boss characters. The side-scrolling parts are a nice nod to the 2D roots of the series, although early on in the game you can suffer a lot of cheap deaths (mostly due to Rick's inability to jump properly) during them. The camera can get annoying at times and I suffered a few cheap deaths but the game more than makes up for it with its awesome combat.

This game is definitely not everybody's cup of tea with all the gore, and the combat can get repetitive (in a good way for me ), but there is a pretty decent upgrade system in place. If you are a fan of the Splatterhouse series or H.P. Lovecraft or you just enjoy games with (brutal) melee combat then is the game for you. Just don't expect AAA quality in all departments. IMO the less-than-perfect visuals and over-the-top gore adds a nice B-movie horror feel to the game.
