seems I spoke too soon tho, 300-350 ping its impossible to fly though an astroroid field without hitting every single thin in your path....

lol, THATS why I asked about a local server, I tried playing online last year and thats pretty much how I kept dying.

Discovery might the best MP mod for Freelancer, but SP, nothing can beat Crossfire.

It does... try logging in when you have a 400+ ping. You can't shoot ships or asteroids effectively, as when the server makes up for the delay, they appear to "jump" away and do so quite often. It become nigh impossible to do anything but trade goods and talk to the other players.

What srategist said. Getting huge profits from trading routs is fun, but only one or 2 trips at a time. And besides, I'm an expert PVP pilot if I can get low ping.

Anybody plays this? I have been playing on the Discvery 24/7 server
