OR IS IT?
Some news flying the internet, validity of this? NO IDEA. It was same user posting two topics on same forums....
So this is what my friend in Japan (who has a buddy working in Polyphony) told me.
Reason for Delay... online portion of the game not ready (in Yamauchi's opinion).
What Sony wanted to do....Release the game in November as announced without a fully implemented online-multiplayer option. Release several pacthes in the following months to incorporate the online aspect of the game.
What Yamauchi wanted to do... release it when the game is complete and ready(including online).Explain toGtfans the release date has pushed back to April 2011 and why.
What they both settledupon after they got in the ring and traded punches for several rounds...Sony lets Yamauchi finish the game and release it in its complete form in Aprill 2011. Yamauchi shuts up about the delay, and lets Sony announce a "fictional" release date of sometime around Christmas this year. When Christmas comes, Sony announces the "TRUE" realease date of April 2011I spoke on the phone with a friendthat lives inJapan who has a buddy working at Polyphony. Now get this...the reason they're delaying once more is because the online portion of the game is nowhere near ready. Apparently, Yamaguchi wanted to be upfront with GT fans and announce an April 2011 release date, but Sony figured it's better to announce a Holiday Season release date to keep interest in the game and when Christmas time comes around announce the actual release date of April 2011. So guys...don't wait for this game to come out before the end of the year.

Lol syco, well not for me, as I only planned on getting GT5 'coming out now'. Guild Wars 2 next year, so if both are released close together, then I dont know which one to concentrate most on :'(
My ignore list: growing too fast to keep updating.
So, some more news :
Gran Turismo 5 has been delayed. But according to Sony, not for long.
There have been rumors and reports that the game narrowly missed its deadline for the November 2 release. Because of that, there is chatter that the game is being held up by Blu-ray production delays. In a tweet yesterday, GT5 designer Kazunori Yamauchi wrote the game still needed some finalizing.
There are also claims that the game has been delayed due to the recent PS3 hack. It was apparently was about to go to production, but needed to be updated so it ships with the latest firmware to ensure that the game is pirate-proof.
"There are numerous reasons why we need a little more time, but I'm not going to go into them," a spokesperson from Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe told Kotaku. "What matters is that the delay will be a short one and the game will live up to expectations."
Ultimately, that is all that matters.
While Sony was initially unwilling to comment on whether the driving simulator will be out this year or early next, these recent comments, along with Yamauchi saying he wanted the title out by the year's end, do seem to indicate that Gran Turismo 5 will finally be out sooner, rather than later.
Yesterday
The delay to Sony's Gran Turismo 5 is a result of the recent PlayStation 3 hack causing Sony to shift manufacturing of game discs, an alleged insider has revealed.
Sony announced earlier this week that Gran Turismo 5 would not make its published 2nd November release date, claiming, "creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating a racing experience of the highest quality."
That might not be entirely true however, according to a post on Blu-Ray.com's forums from a senior moderator called Maximus with alleged links to Sony.
"The problem arose when SCE mandated SDK 350 on all games releasing after October," reads the post. "GT5 was about to go gold running on SDK 341, but it has been delayed by around a week so that they can update to SDK 350.
"This has caused a big headache for the manufacturing side, given how big this game is missing the gold date by even a week can cause a months worth of delay as slots are already taken up at this time of year for Blu-ray movies and such. So Sony had to find a three week slot big enough to make seven million+ copies of this and get them shipped out."
"If you want to blame anyone, I would direct it at the pirates and hackers," the post adds. "SCE never had any real SDK restrictions before firmware 3.41 was compromised."
The original post has now been taken down from the forum.
We've reached out to Sony for comment.
Gran Turismo 5 will now launch on PlayStation 3 "before Christmas."
Will just get it whenever it comes out, no need to pull ones hair out for something like that, there are more and more games coming out soon like NFS hot Pursuit, TDU2. So it's ok to wait for a while.
