I've read the blog and some of the comments. I can't say any of the claims in the blog surprise me--EA has always had its fair share of drama inside and out. This little saga comes to mind

    Ah, days of our lives

That statement is primary reason I will not ever buy any EA games. If you can't see how they disregard the needs of their developers and try and rush a game before it's even half way finished, your your a blind fool. I didn't need this guy to say it for me to figure it out myself.

Sure, they need to work on making the game, but if you push them with unrealistic deadlines, thats pretty hard to do.

“Everyone thinks they always know better than the people in charge,”
Uhm... 99.9% of the time they actualy do. If the janitor on the ground floor was incharge, the games would probably have been much, MUCH better.

Ahaha ... shame. Are any of the people looking forward to the Old Republic reading this?

EA = Activision = Corporate bastards who only care about the bottom line.

Bioware have never let them and untill such a time I will trust them to deliver with the old republic. I even trust them with dao 2 even if I don't like some of the direction its taking.

I don't trust EA but I trust the people at Bioware.

Really does depend though. If EA ends up rushing them or not.

I still love Bioware games, but I wouldn't stack the current Bioware against the Bioware of Baldur's Gate/KotOR days. Dragon Age may be a good game in it's own right, but I got bored of it quite quickly, frankly.

Considering Dr. Ray Muzyka is one of the EA vice presidents I have doudts that bioware will be rushed unless its needed.

I never got bored of dao, have nearly 500 hours in it. Sure its not as good as bg but the market is different today and unfortuantly in order to have a commercially succesfull game they have to make some sacrifices.

I could really argue that point. All you need to do is take a look at some indie games that get released. A couple of them are really simple and straightforward with no fancy gimmicks, but hellishly addictive all the same. Main difference between their developers and EA/Acti is marketing budget.

Also - I could only say that I was incredibly happy that the EA/Take 2 deal never went through - because with that would've gone Firaxis. Imagine what Civ V would've become with EA cracking the whip.

As it is though - we have no idea what the exact details of the deal between Bioware and EA is - I'm sure Bioware had a lot more clout than Mythic did when it came to putting an agreement together, so they'll probably be able to tell EA to shove it if they tell them to hurry.

Not that I'm all that keen to play TOR anyways
