Tinman I nodded off playing this this afternoon, it doesn't remotely prepare you for the onslaught of MP, which will either have you crying in frustration or laughing insanely.

I'm getting MoH on Monday, hoping it won't be a waste of money...

So you're either good at the MP or not, is that it?
So if I'm good at MW2's MP (Not trying to blow my own horn... that sounds wrong ) will I be good at this?

TBH I'm pleased to hear the single player is short, because I want to finish it before moving onto the multiplayer. Hopefully that will be a bit meatier.
I agree that it doesn't do anything better than other shooters, but it's not all bad either. While the gameplay is similar to most other military shooters it does have more of an "authentic" feel IMO and, most importantly, it's still a lot of fun. There are some real crappy textures present, but the water and lighting is impressive.

Every time I play this game, whether it be SP or MP, it feels "hollow". As if there is literally no substance to the game. You shoot the guns, but you don't get the feeling that you're dealing death on other people. It's almost as if you're completely remote from the game.

CoD (MW2 included) just feels more immersive. When you shoot the guns in CoD, they "feel" and react as real guns would do (approximately. Show me the guy who can fire the RPD/M60 full-auto, in a standing position, and still control the recoil...). I don't think "CoD-lite" is even appropriate. More like "cheapass game made to imitate cod, but done badly."

Erg. And now we have nothing to look forward to thanks to no BO servers in SA
The difference between pizza and your opinion is that I asked for pizza.

Yeah Im enjoying single player, its no modern warfare, but its different, and that doesnt make it worse. The campaign is really short though. If you have a ps3 I suggest getting the limited edition, you get Frontline HD free with it to play on ps3.

I cannot disagree with you more. CoD (the guns included) is anything but realistic IMO. Medal of Honor is the most authentic military shooter that I have played to date. No other game has made me feel like I am an actual soldier like this game has. Finished the SP last night and loved every bit of it, moving on to Tier 1 mode now.

If you play MoH on PC I can understand your sentiments as I've heard it is a crappy port, but on console (PS3 at least) it is well worth the asking price IMO.

Either way, from the looks of things people are either gonna love this game (for being an authentic military shooter) or hate it (for not being CoD).

Good grief there are strong opinions concernin this game :P
If I remember correctly MoH was created on the PS3 so it will run the best on the PS3.
What to do... what to do...

Haha Duke - these multiple threads aren't helping your decision.

I posted in the PC thread that it starts off slowly - not mind blowing by any standard - but it does get a whole lot better. It's a pity it takes so long to get there, but the last missions have been highly entertaining. MP is quite fun actually, although the spawn system is shite, you can either have an awesome round or one of total humiliation by getting cut to pieces by spawn rapers (some guys think that makes them good).

As said before though, there are more than enough guys playing properly (ie actually going for the objectives and not stat padding) - so when you have a team that's doing their jobs, it's works like a charm.
