If you ask me, its because Sims is played by so many people that aren't computer literate beyond installing a game. Can you imagine what the "fallout" (tm) would be if thousands up thousands of bored housewife's got peefed off at EA and started "Destroy EA" in their free time because they can't understand this DRM thing? Much less limited activation totals...
But still, good from EA.
