I know, thats my point. I blame the french.

The singularity is about to explode! Weapons are at maximum.
Have you guys thought about it this way?
I know that the entire world is "wired" these days and it's hard to see even as much as an ad on TV without some www. or "@" address in it - but I think that the way I'd like my kids to one-day see the internet is as a tool to help them in getting information for school projects and stuff and as a way of communicating with Granddad overseas.
I do NOT want my children to believe that they MUST have the internet somehow involved in their daily lives, because as we know, it's a lie. You don't need to be "connected" every day and the number one way to ensure that my kids have a healthy balance between the virtual world and the real world is to make sure that the REAL world stays put as the priority.
By using things such as sports activities and culture activities like music lessons, my kids will hopefully see the internet for what it's meant to be. A tool and NOT a necessity.
Oh, I also want to add that I still stand resolute that ANY internet access my kids have will be supervised by me or my wife. I know a lot of you say that parents must let their kids be aware of the realities of life, but I'll be damned if the Internet teaches that to my kids. I'll protect my kids to the skin of my teeth as far as I possibly can - because I know that no matter what I do - they'll still be exposed to "real life" at some stage - but at least I did my part as a responsible parent and I did NOT allow the internet or general media to make things worse than they really should have.
