BF2 was an epic game, that is still one of my fav games to this day. But its not solely due to Dice and EA, mods such as AIX and [email protected] (as Densweep pointed out) made the game even more kick ass. I just don't have the same feeling with BC2, something is just missing.

Come on EA show us some BF style goodness! not the platitudinous normal stuff, but make no mistake BFBC2 is a good game.

It's still hard to think that MW2 uses an updated doom3 engine
Simple reason is that if DICE use the Frostbite engine (like BC2) I doubt there is any way they could make the game even close to the same scale as BF2. The Frostbite engine is very heavy on system resources and with the destructible environment I doubt it would work very well as a huge multi-player title. AIX2 showed what can be done with the old BF2 engine so it wouldn't need the new Frostbite engine to be an awesome game.

Ditto. Old isn't necessarily bad. Only thing that BF2 lacks is decent graphics, but that should improve by default, I just dont see how its possible to use the Frostbite engine for an awesome game like that, its got to many little add-ons and extra's that make it, well, just un-BF2 like.
