What's stopping you from playing "Assassin's Creed, Brink, Deus Ex, Rage, NSF or any other title" on the PS3? Apart from personal preference of course? There's nothing defining the 360 at this point apart from Gears/Halo and now Kinect.

Perhaps my whole rant is more a reflection on the status of the industry at this point than me "mouthing off at MS". However, where other platforms have quite a number of exclusives lined up for the core gamer, MS appear to be focusing on the stroke-my-pony-consumer.
Sweet blue fanny all. Gaming on a specific platform, for me anyways, has always been about the players personal preference. Some choose PC, some choose Xbox, some choose PS3, some choose the Wii and some choose Xbox and PS3...

The exclusive market has shrunken on both he PS3 and Xbox. Xbox has Halo, PS3 has Killzone. Xbox has Forza, PS3 has GT (if/when it is ever released). Yeah you have Uncharted, God of War, Gears of War, Fable but thats really about its. Yeah there are the odd title here but generally speaking its about even. Even price wise they are even, add in the new Xbox Slim and they are about DEAD even. So its the players choice.

As for the "stroke-my-pony-consumer" Nintendo proved that there is a very lucrative market out there ripe for the milking. So it would be idiotic bussiness sense, on Sony & MS's part, to not try and get a slice of that pie.
