Ag F*k, I forgot that you had to go through a plethora of updates before you can even get into steam.

When people complain about steam updates, how often do you guys actually use steam?

    Don't you use Steam?

...or have I totally misunderstood your question?

    You've misunderstood I think.

I have steam, but I don't have these massive updates when I install a new game so I was wondering how often people start ther steam?

Steam remains a pain the ass for a lot of people who don't use it often - what with the client/game updates and what not. Mine automatically logs in when I boot up and runs in the background.

Still I would like it if Steam made the game updates optional rather than forcing them.

Game updates especially when you just installed a game are very annoying. A simple "An update is available for your game. Would you like to update your game now?" would be appreciated. As for Steam client updates, they are under 30MB so I don't see much reason to moan about that.

So let me get this straight, the game is not worth buying if not using MWeb as an ISP? U would essentially only be getting the Single Player experience.

Incorrect. Any ADSL line supported by IS will do fine. Afrihost, Axxess etc. As far as I know iBurst is a bit of a problem but I could be wrong.
