Rushing might be a faster way of getting where you want to be, by exploiting your opponents inability to scout you, but generally you're shooting yourself in the foot. Once you've learned to rush and cheese, you generally can't unlearn how to. And because of that, your mid, and late, game will suffer as a direct result thereof. You won't have the necessary micro/macro/tech to be able to stay on par with your really good opponent. Play standard.

Great advice coming from the king of cheese ^^

Playing around with builds and trying different things might get u to platinum/diamond quicker but once you get there by just using to the bone build orders you're gna hit a wall and not be able to get around it. I realised this a little bit late as well, but the best thing to do to actually learn and imrpove on your macro (which is the first thing most people need to work on, especially if u came from playing non-RTS games like myself) is to just do more or less the same *strategy* every game until you feel comfortable with your macro. I.E not having 1000 minerals banked up when you're running off one base, not getting supply capped before 80 supply (trust me, that can change the outcome of the game, and obv u dont want to ever get supply capped, but shi- happens).

Then again, it all depends on how you want to enjoy the game. I enjoy the competitive aspect of it, so I like to try and imrpove on my game and get better, not just getting cheap points on ladder. If you just want achievements or the common phrase *have fun* then sure, do whatever you see fit to satisfy your joy. Just know that if u carry on trying rushes and doing silly cheesey things you will hit a wall, especially if you are playing in friendly comps or leagues etc.
