This really diminishes the game experience compared to 6 months or a year ago.
Which version of the game are you playing? I have the Asian version and there are ALWAYS people online either to summon or invading me.

See I think Demon's Souls is one of the best games ever made but its unforgiving nature puts alot of people off. I love playing it solo and the few times I have taken it online nobody has bothered me. Since the story is a bit thinly spread i can see why I wouldn't appeal to all SP fans.

Also I think had to option to choose who you play with been included it could have been a very awesome co-op title.

I'm going a bit off-topic here (ok, a lot off-topic =) ), but I think the difficulty of Demon's Souls is exaggerated. As soon as you realize its not your typical button smasher, start playing a little more defensively and using some observation, you will have little trouble, even less trouble if you pay attention to rated messages. Getting out of the button smashing mindset seems to be the biggest hurdle for most people. World Tendency on the other hand... I could see that infuriating new players, its probably the most bizarre mechanic in the game.

And yes, I have the European version.

Agreed. That is what puts most people off. Once you realize that you have to think before acting else you will die and die alot its becomes alot easier.
World tendency does go over my head but its not as bizarre as the crow vendor.

I never play SP games anymore, I just find it way more interesting/exciting to play against real people.

SP. I'm too competitive for MP. Just don't have the time to practice and can't stand losing as a result lol.

Plus I enjoy good a story

Hmm... I am generally more for singleplayer, but I love MMOs. Go figure.

Personally I have so little patience with asshats in online gaming, and hell, they are pervasive!

Online wins hands down for me. I feel lonely in single player games after having played so many MMO's for the past few years
