What applications do you have installed?

Maybe he uses them to back up his games so he does not scratch the disks over time? I used to do that.

HLSW!!!!!!!!

What is HLSW?
HLSW is a software that facilitates online gamers the world-wide locating of game servers as well as game server owners or operators the maintenance and administration of their servers.

What means HLSW?
The acronym HLSW stands for ‚Half-Life Serverwatch’. In its first versions was the software only with server of the game ‚Half-Life’ compatible. In the meanwhile it supports around 220 online games and game modifications. The list contains e.g. Alien vs. Predator 2, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Counter Strike, Counter Strike: Source, Jedi Knight, Neverwinter
Nights, Day of Defeat Quake, Rune, Star Wars and Wolfenstein.

Itt's a much quicker way of checking who's playing where, where the full and empty servers are, and what's cool is if you want to join a server and it's full the program will automatically join the server once a spot becomes available.

Bittorrent
Deamon tools
Ultra ISO

Thats everything in THAT category.

Other usefull apps:

PSX - For PS1 games when your PS1 kicked the bucket after being carefully wrapped up and stored away for a few years while an old pentium 1 PC was left without the side panels out in the garage and still works perfectly after the same amount of time.

Belarc Advisor - To figure out exactly what drivers need to be downloaded if you ever get a PC without anysort of documentation.

Recover My Files - To recover everything on your HDD if you ever delete the partition on it by mistake.

Audacity - Great audio recording and editor software.

PBSetup - Easy little app that keeps Punkbuster up to date for all your games.

Daemon Tools.....

Oh and Alcohol 120

Gee, I wonder what those are for?

I use daemon tools flat out!

1) My original copy of MoH: Airborne never wanted to run, so I pulled a crack for it.
2) I've been playing BF2 for years and years using a miniCD loader so I wouldn't have to play with the disk in all the time. Both my Bf2 copies are legit.

Other than that:

Media:
Winamp (I refuse to use anything that takes up more screen real estate)
VLC
ACDSee (Apparently Piccaso works well too)

I've only ever used Alcohol 120 once and that was with MOH. Installing it almost caused my DVD rom to melt down. Got half way and I'd had enough. So I DL Alcohol and created a ISO and installed it from there problem solved.

Rather annoying that anti piracy measures basically force you to dl these programs just to get the product to work. This is why I now use steam .

Anyway back to topic:

I considered that, but there is a fee to unlock all the features, so I left it off the list. Still a good program though :)
