This has gone from evil to just plain "what-the-fuck-tarded".

They all going to die in 2012! making they purchasing of domains pointless

They may be worried about losing the Modern Warfare rights to the former IW execs. So this may just be a way to make sure they latch onto any potential spin-offs they can generate from the Call of Duty brand. Whether its a futile effort remains to be seen.
