Capcom won't be funding games developed in the west anymore

Apparently no one told them that if you want to shift 2 million units, you can’t release utter trash.

What about Resident Evil 5 which did superbly well? And Street Fighter IV. And Lost Planet. And those are but three 'newer' releases.
Now they're crying because we didn't eat up the shit titles they've released lately?

I think those Games you list were not developed in the west. Actually pretty sure they weren't.
 
Capcom is not done with Western audiences though, and will still use US/European studios to develop sequels, and remakes of currently established franchise titles.

There is the problem. Im so sick of sequels and remakes, give me a fresh IP. Lay Res & SF to rest and give us something NEW!

I am going with you there. I how ever do not mind a remake of a really old game for xbox arcade,but not for a big title.

Look at batman aa,that was really fun and I really enjoyed it. But now they will milk it and that will just make the game stale.
 
Agh! Capcom were my favourite producers... Okami, Killer 7, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry... >_< Well, as long as there is still a way for us to get hold of the games some how it should be okay. Yay to avoiding badly translated games, boo to the trouble of having some get some epically awesome games. I'm okay with remakes, if they're good of course.

As for sequels developed by Western producers, ick, just look at what happened to Silent Hill...
 
As evermore obscene amounts of money are funneled into gaming, and while the publishers / developers are expecting even larger profits to match, they will continue to shy away from risk. So what that basically means is that while the gaming public is happy consuming: Super-Killer-Shooter 7! and the like, they will keep pumping them out to play it safe. I wonder. For every new IP that makes decent profit, how many fail?

I keep on saying this - Gaming is getting too big for itself. The profits needed for success, or cutting it even, are getting crazy! And the whole time consumer expectations keep soaring alongside with it. A real double-edged sword if there ever was.
