Has anyone ever wondered what is cuasing our land to suck,even though we are such a rich land. (in minerals)
 
The South African consumer base is between 8-11 million people. Something like that, can't remember exactly.

There are a lot of factors that can contribute to this (applies to most of Africa as well), the masses only started to get some sort of education system in the 1980's. The African culture of I don't need to do anything it will be given to me because people feel guilty about the past. The I don't need to do anything cause my children will care for me. The we have so much minerals and these people are willing to pay for it, refine it and sell it back to us. The lets buy shit to start an industry that will fail instead of starting one from scratch.

Then you get the I deserve attitude, this is the worst kind you can possibly have. Inflation is 6% but I deserve an increase of 13% and if i don't get i will strike! Instead of; you know what I do my work very well and believe that as a reward for my good work I will get a promotion.

I can go on and on about this for 1000 pages but in the end it doesn't matter cause people will stay the same and Africa will always be behind the rest of world until they realize they should do shit for themselves. (This is not a racist post, if you think it is then you should note I never mentioned race but geography. If you still think this is racist you are an idiot and deserve to be shot)
 
Well if you compare our two economies, well then it's quite obvious why we suck compared to them :p
