I, for one, am so stoked for this. It's like SimCity on a much more epic scale! I spent hours and hours in SimCity in the past, so this could be right up my alley.

So I very excitedly downloaded the demo last night and it turns out it's not Windows 7 compatible :( FAIL.

Also got into closed beta and was expecting to play, but alas, I have to download the full client somewhere. That is compatible with W7...so they say.

I completely forgot about this game, does anyone know where I can buy this? Preferably online, kalahari seems to be out of stock.

Yes unfortunately :) Tried to play the demo, but it wasn't compatible with Windows 7 back then. Not sure if it is now. Got into the closed beta too, but alas cap...

The multiplayer isnt something that has been explored in that genre, its brilliant. But, I checked the website, does it require a premium subscription to play online and interact with other city builders?

Yes it does, you need a premium subscription to interact with other city builders. You can play the single player campaign that comes with the game.

Hmmm, Imma let you finish, but SC4 was the best city-building game of all time! And it was able to utilize two cores...after some coaxing...

Not that I'm saying it's bad, but I kinda like SC4, and when I have finally finished a region I will look at getting CXL.

is this an MMO?

Technically its not really :

Massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is a genre of computer role-playing games in which a very large number of players interact with one another within a virtual game world.

As in all RPGs, players assume the role of a fictional character (often in a fantasy world),[1] and take control over many of that character's actions.[2] MMORPGs are distinguished from single-player or small multi-player RPGs by the number of players, and by the game's persistent world, usually hosted by the game's publish

Although, a large amounts of players interact with each other, its not a RPG.

I personally think the definition of an "MMORPG" is long outdated.

When I play CitiesXL I may not be playing a specific character, but I'm playing the role of city planner/manager.

Anyway, yes...you can interact with others, therefore it's a MMOG at the very least.
