Aion - General Discussion

Guyz im thinking of getting Aion. Tell me honestly is it worth it? Take into account i know jack about the game other than what BTgames site has to say about it.
 
You've got to keep the subs in mind. Depending on which way you go, you're looking at between R100 - R140 per month.

Also, consider, that not much more than two months ago I said that I would never play a game that asked for subs. Somehow I find myself now playing Aion. Grinning all the way. Trying to ignore the drain on my pocket.

Read all the Aion threads as well (including the Aion vs WOW) - but it might help you decide :)
 
Dude, buy the game. You get 30 days' subs with it.

Play those 30 days and then see what you make of it. Keeping in mind the first 10 levels should not be used to judge the game as it's very limited in terms of landscape, skills and character growth.
 
So, I sorted out my performance issues. For some reason, my catalyst settings were set to 8XAA in all applications! I set it to application controlled, and can now run the game happily with 4XAA and everything on max detail and it runs at a solid 60fps with vertical sync enabled.

This game is amazing looking. Just dinged lvl 9, still anticipating things getting more fun after I ascend.

Wait until you ascend and land up in Pandemonium ... please take a screen shot of your FPS for us :D

Yea, queue was like 3 mins last night :D

I grouped up for the first time, to do that quest where you have to find Rae and destroy the different colour stone thingies to close the whatchmacallit gate - lotsa fun. Also found a nice shield and got a pretty sweet sword, so things have picked up a bit. Ascension draws near :D

Change your directory name to AionEU and change your region settings in the NCSoft launcher to Europe BEFORE downloading the 526MB patch!

During that quest was how I accidentally discovered how to glide. Unfortunately it was down into a huge group of mobs :o
 
Yeah, you can glide at lvl 9 after you've decided which route to ascend to.

Jump in the air, then double tap SPACE BAR. Let go of the W button and just glide - when you get close to the ground, hit S so that you pull back and drag - causing lift.

If you work on your gliding, you can glide pretty much forever.
 
Depends what side you play.

Most of us are Asmodians on Gorgos. If you play Elyos ... not sure where you'd be keen to play.
