My legion currently consists of me (with my Chanter and Templar - my Chanter is the leader, Templar is just a normal legionary), my best mate (also my only centurion) and a Polish girl from the UK.

Our me and the Chanter had to kill the tandila and saw this ranger being chaced by one so we killed, in inadvertently stealing her kill, so we invited her to group and then killed another one. She then joined, since she proved to be able in combat. Only prob... i think its actually a man playing a woman. Not so weird i guess considering my mage is female also....
 
All my characters are female as well ... as is my friend's character. We know our other character is an actual female playing a female, but at this point my legion is all-girl :p

My friend's char is a ranger, and he was complaining about how weak she is (at level 19), apparently she powered up a bit after that.

I've read Rangers are terrible until level 16 when they get a chain skill, and pick up after level 20

Yeah, I'm almost 30 on my Ranger.

First 20 levels are very slow, but from then on it's awesome.

It's still a tricky class to pvp with though, especially against other ranged dps classes because all your traps and snares (which are a rangers key element) have no utility. So then it's just dps vs dps and with that you'll generally be outmatched.

As always though it's too early to tell how it'll balance out at 50, but at the moment I'm finding it fiddly to find my niche in pvp, apart from just ganking melee classes.

Then again I also think that's how Aion is approaching pvp - no class will always be effective in any situation. You have to pick your battles very carefully.
 
The pvp element specifically encourages grouping ... since every class has a very specific role to fill. The ranger, like the sorcerer, is supposed to be sitting around the back somewhere.

cool, i must say this game has some serious nice places to explore around.
 
Flipsnakes...

I've only really played twice in the last 2 weeks so im still stuck on lvl 21 while the rest of the guys in m legion is around lvl 30 now :(

So I do the update last night by launching the game as I always do ... except this time when I saw again it had pulled a 350MB patch and now the entire install is borked. :mad:

keeps d/connecting from the server for patch :( anyone know where i can manually dload the 568.3mb patch?

Edit:

n/m :) dloading at max speed now, dammit i went to a friends house thinking that the patch was dloading all along but the client needed to get restarted before it started dloading again :( woulda been done by now..
 
I spent the weekend getting to 20 (goal to join the legion), and got various crafting skills up

Finally done with the quests in Altgard. Got my Armorsmithing is on 104 from 40, Extract Vitality is on 80 from 20 and Extract Aether is on 57 from 5 :p
 
Since Eve was being a hartless bitch i Ascended my Asmodian Mage on Gorgos into a Sorceres and finished up a quest or 2 with my Gladiator on Kalil.
