Greetings all,

I hope you don't mind me posting an advert for a non-commercial event here:

Arduino Day 2015

Saturday 28th March 2015

A worldwide event bringing together Arduino people and projects.
SHARE THE EXPERIENCE!

#ArduinoD15

Arduino is a global and very popular open-source physical computing platform based on a simple microcontroller board, and a development environment for writing software for the board. Not only is it a very easy and inexpensive way to learn the basics of computer programming and electronics for everyone, but Arduino has also been the ‘brain’ behind many sophisticated projects ranging from Robots to 3D Printers to Quadcopters. Arduinos have also recently been used in a satellite project (ArduSat).

The MilkyWay Internet Café at The Zone in Rosebank, Johannesburg is hosting an Arduino Day on Saturday the 28th March 2015, one of many around the world. Arduino Day is a worldwide celebration of Arduino’s birthday. It's a 24 hours-long event. We aim to bring together enthusiasts and all those interested in finding out what its all about. There will be some projects on display, and there will be a presentation at 13h00, followed by an open discussion. We will also be talking about how this compares to other devices such as the Raspberry Pi, where to source the hardware, and how get help with realising your ideas.

We hope to establish an on-going network and outreach program under the auspices of the non-profit MilkyWay Foundation.

Entrance is free, but please RSVP to [email protected] Anyone with a working project they would like to demo, please get in touch. For more information call 011 447 1295, email [email protected] or visit our web site www.milkyway.co.za
