Asus reveals ultra-thin ROG Zephyrus gaming laptop

eish. Tempted.

My gaming laptop need a replacement & not sure I can do a 3KG heavy again (also a rog) since I travel a fair bit

Scared of the price though. Might need to park that idea for a couple months.

Edit: wonder if this is lighter in addition to thinner.

If I ever buy a Windows laptop again, it will most definitely be a Razer Blade. They are downright gorgeous and almost up to Macbook Pro build quality. I'll also opt for the GPU add-on so I can buy a desktop GPU and do proper gaming when at home. I seldom, if ever, game on the move, so it makes sense to have a premium , light-weight ultrabook with the ability to plug in an external GPU for some serious gaming.

Razer Blade
haha one day when I have too much money. ;)

900 laptop + 499 core -100 discount + 800 gfx = 27k zar

It's an interesting concept but still very much a compromise. e.g. You're stuck with a 12.5" screen there...despite 27k investment.

I'm secretly hoping that come January I'm in a place that has space for a desktop. I miss the days where a modest budget (15k) gets you solid performance...it's just not possible in laptop form-factor. Will probably limit on with my 860M laptop until January.

I paid just over R27k for my current MSI laptop and it's nowhere near the power and portability you'd get from a Razer Blade. To be honest, I like the smaller screen for traveling, meetings, etc. A 17" laptop is unwieldy and gets heavy if you carry it long distances. That's why I prefer taking my 13" Macbook Pro to meetings.

Still, I'd prefer having all my work and games on one portable, powerful and flexible machine. The Blade seems like the only one to tick all those boxes.
