One of the reasons Eskom is applying for an electricity hike is because the average annual salary of one of its employees is expected to be R820,000 in 2017 and 2018, according to a report on Saturday.

Beeld newspaper reported that Eskom's total salaries for about 45,600 employees at that time would be about R37 billion.

And what happens if people simply start looking for alternatives to electricity? We've already got a gas oven installed and we're planning on switching our geysers to gas too.

Average of R820k per year most probably means that the CEO's salary is upping the average of the cable diggers to this amount.

That's too much, just shows you what happens if you nationalise stuff!!!!
 
Pity, last time I visited the Eskom Research Center almost everyone was playing solitaire.
